| Simon Rose
(Can) has won critical acclaim and a growing and devoted
fan base among children, parents and teachers for his fantastic
fictions about medieval history, science and magic. His
books spring from an avid interest in everything from history
to science fiction to comic books; his début novel The
Alchemist’s Portrait was ranked by reviewers with the
best fantasy of its kind, and the followup The Sorcerer's
Letterbox was shortlisted for the Silver Birch and
Diamond Willow Awards in 2005. Simon lives and writes in
Calgary, where he is in constant demand as a presenter for
