| Born and raised
on a southern Alberta farm, Hazel Hutchins has enjoyed the
West’s beauty her entire life. She began writing as a teen,
and since then has published over 25 titles! She shares
her love of writing through her website, where she welcomes
young writers to submit their work in order to foster their
love of reading and writing. Hazel Hutchins brings three
new books to this year’s festival: Beneath the Bridge,

 A
small child sets a little paper boat into a tiny stream.
Beneath the Bridge follows the path of the little
boat as it as it encounters all kinds of different animals,
people and activities as it makes its way down larger waterways
and out to sea. Written as a poem, this book shows us the
boat's entire marvelous journey and the excitement of the
child to whom it belongs.
