 Quincy
Troupe's latest collection of poetry dazzles in its use
of jazz rhythms, political commentary, sports tributes,
travelogues and architectural abstracts. In this collection,
Quincy merges traditional forms with contemporary content
fashioning “words & sounds that build bridges toward
a new tongue.” The poems celebrate African-American life,
boldly commenting on social injustice, all using language
and form in a jazz improvisational style.
